Milton Berle thought it would be funny to flip us off. Maybe it was to get us to smile. Maybe it was because he was a deeply disturbed, strange man.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe it was a little from Column A, a little from Column B.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>I had my picture taken with Conrad Bain.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/bain-730509.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/bain-730506.gif\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>I don\u2019t remember why or where. I just remember he was short, and he called me the \u201cbasketball player.\u201d Except I don\u2019t play basketball.<\/p>\n<p>So he couldn\u2019t have been more wrong.<br \/>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>I had lunch with Gordon Jump a couple of times.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/jump-22-23565-sm-737419.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/jump-22-23565-sm-737417.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once it was at a Souplantation in Pasadena, and once it was at a restaurant in the Beverly Center. I tried to hire him to come to Jackson Hole, except he wanted too much money.<\/p>\n<p>Which wasn\u2019t hard to do, because I didn\u2019t have much money.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>I bumped into Harrison Ford at the Jackson Hole Airport.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/ford6-744460.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/ford6-744104.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>Literally. And it was his fault. He said &#8220;Excuse me.&#8221; I&#8217;m not sure what I said.<\/p>\n<p>He was shorter than I imagined, but more physically fit.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>I danced with Kim Fields \u2013 Tootie from <font>The Facts of Life.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/factsoflife-174-1c-711245.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/factsoflife-174-1c-711243.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>She came to see a show I was in, and I spoke to her backstage, and then I grabbed her arm and twirled her around.  (It was OK &#8211; it wasn&#8217;t violent or anything. She laughed.) That was a &#8220;thing&#8221; I did. Sometimes I polka&#8217;d with people unexpectedly. I think we may have polka&#8217;d, but I can&#8217;t be sure.<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t know who she was \u2013 I just thought she was cute.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>The lead singer of Shivaree, Ambrosia Parsley, used to live with a girl I was dating.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/shivaree-714039.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/shivaree-714037.JPG\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>She always hung out with us, which made smooching sessions awkward. I never smooched Ambrosia, though. Probably should have.<\/p>\n<p>She went by &#8220;Amber&#8221; in those days. Maybe that was the problem.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>Ricky Schroeder, as I said before, went to high school with me.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/rick-schroeder-sized-729269.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/rick-schroeder-sized-729267.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I doubt he would know who I am today &#8211; he was two grades younger than me, although we were in the same theatre class. All I remember was that he had zits \u2013 which clearly have left him a bunch of acne scars.<\/p>\n<p>Re-watch Season 6 of 24 if you don\u2019t believe me.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>I met Christopher Reeve three weeks before his paralyzing accident.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/039_16626%7EChristopher-Reeve-as-Superman-Posters-705401.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/039_16626%7EChristopher-Reeve-as-Superman-Posters-705398.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was responsible for taking him to another office in the U.S. Capitol. A friend of mine who had met Reeve told me that his two pet peeves were being called Christopher Reeve<font>s, <\/font>with an S, and being remembered solely as Superman. I told the rest of the office this, and within two minutes of his arrival, someone called him Mr. Reeves, and Mr. Reeve promptly corrected him. Then, as we were walking in the hallway, someone yelled out &#8220;Hey, Superman!&#8221; And Mr. Reeve rolled his eyes. So it proves my friend was right.<\/p>\n<p>I was taller than Superman Reeves, too.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>I took a six-week acting class from Maximillian Schell.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/black-hole-767868.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/black-hole-767866.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>He told me to call him Max, which I did. I got him to say \u201cWazoo city, babe!\u201d I also made him admit that he had starred in the movie <font>The Black Hole. <\/font>He said it was the worst film he\u2019d ever made. At the time, it was the only one of his movies I\u2019d ever seen. I\u2019ve since seen <font>Deep Impact<\/font>.<\/p>\n<p>I liked <font>The Black Hole<\/font> better.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>I had lunch with Jason Hervey on the Sunset Strip \u2013 by accident.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/jason_hervey-757671.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/jason_hervey-757669.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We were randomly seated at the bar next to each other. He was very friendly, and he wore a Rolex. I thought I knew him and that his name was Fred, and he thought that was funny. I didn\u2019t even connect it to the whole <font>Wonder Years <\/font>thing.<\/p>\n<p>He looked familiar, and that&#8217;s why I struck up a conversation with him, but I didn\u2019t realize he was a big star until afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>As a kid, I was in a carpool with Jerry Sharrell, the star of <font>Kids Incorporated<\/font>.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/cast1-1-772242.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/cast1-1-772238.gif\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>He thought I was kind of a nerd. He was right. My Esteemed Colleague who used to help me crank call joined me in mocking him mercilessly.<\/p>\n<p>He always had good hair, though.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>John Travolta likes my work.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/john_travolta-792536.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/john_travolta-792527.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was in the musical <i>Annie<\/i> playing Rooster opposite John Travolta\u2019s niece, who played Lily. I can\u2019t remember her real name. John Travolta came to the show, shook my hand, and said \u2013 and I quote \u2013 \u201cgood show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That was about it.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>Michael Jackson used to go to the Kingdom Hall for Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses on Ventura Boulevard, only a few miles from my house.<\/p>\n<p><\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/caratulas_MICHAEL_JACKSON-THRILLER_-778705.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/caratulas_MICHAEL_JACKSON-THRILLER_-778701.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>I never saw him, though, so this one doesn\u2019t count. A friend of mine swears that he came to his door with another Jehovah&#8217;s Witness, and that Michael was wearing a beard as a disguise. This friend of mine also had the nickname &#8220;Pus-wad.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>You be the judge.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>I\u2019ve met just about every Osmond there is to meet, as well as Steve Young and every other famous Mormon. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/osfamstar-768352.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/osfamstar-768348.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s a small world, Mormonly speaking.  They all eventually come to Salt Lake City to go to General Conference. I\u2019ve also worked in D.C. and met a bunch of politicos, but politicos don\u2019t count. I do, however, have a picture of myself with both George H.W. Bush and Bob Dole. I thought Bob Dole was going to be president.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m an idiot.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>I was part of a singing group that sang \u201cBless The Beasts and the Children\u201d alongside The Fifth Dimension at the Coconut Grove.<\/p>\n<p><\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/www.soulwalking.co.uk-736043.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/www.soulwalking.co.uk-736042.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><br \/>It was at a benefit for abused children, and because we were the last act on a very long bill that played late into the night. We had all fallen asleep, and they woke us up to go onstage.  We were tired, and our hair was all messed up. So everyone thought we were a children\u2019s choir of abused children.<\/p>\n<p>We got a standing ovation.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>I was Arthur Kane\u2019s home teacher.<\/p>\n<p><\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/NYD_DVD_2D_LG-741878.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/NYD_DVD_2D_LG-741482.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Being a home teacher  is a Mormon thing where you go and visit someone once a month to minister to them and make sure everything was OK. Arthur Kane was the bass player for the New York Dolls and, at the time, a newly baptized Mormon. They made a great movie about him called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorkdollmovie.com\/\"><span style=\"font-style:italic;\">New York Doll<\/span><\/a> that won a bunch of awards at Sundance last year.<\/p>\n<p>He thought I was just some dumb, na\u00efve kid, and he was probably right.<\/p>\n<p>______________<\/p>\n<p><font>I wrote to Ron Pallillo as a kid.<\/p>\n<p><\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/ec15553a-755928.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stallioncornell.com\/uploaded_images\/ec15553a-755925.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>He sent me an autographed picture that said \u201cOh! Oh! Ron Palillo.\u201d He played Arnold Horshack, you know. On  <font>Welcome Back, Kotter.<\/font> He said that Horshack is a very honorable name.
