It's basically a general chatting thread that has run amok. It adds about 100 pages a day of virtually nothing to do with BSG. I have visions of about 30-40 cell phones that are idle since those same people have found a much cheaper way to "keep verbally active".
The entire board activity outside this thread is probably to the tune of 2% of the traffic. Mrs. Ron, the starter of the thread ..and who is supposed to be the principle focus of the thread ...has lost her meaning in it.
Now, by all means, carry on if you get something out of it. This is not an uncommon reaction (mine) ..when an invading horde swoops in and, more or less, squats in any given environment and forms it to their own liking. There's no real "law" against it ..so no one is doing anything "wrong" per se. It's just the view of the longer term members that participated in concert with the "environment" having a radical alteration to it.
I fully understand why this isn't a "problem" for those who are fully involved with it. It's something that you obviously enjoy. Again, when I see dozens of people with their cell phones implanted in their ears ..they too must enjoy it. My anxiety is in the inability to derive such enjoyment from something that is as appealing (to me, my POV) as doing chores. It's far too laborous "chatting" with no real reason for the commmunication ...except to communicate. To me it's sorta like buying stuff so that you're sure to have enough to offer at the next yardsale. I.E. a waste of productive time with no measureable productive worth.

My take is that the "MrsRon" thread, is a place for fans to meet with someone that is as involved with the series as much as they are. Kinda like "Hi I have nothing to do with BSG." Wow, cool, we don't either, lets be friends." Then later when the series fails, they can say, how are you today MrsRon? She can say "looking for work". And maybe they can say, yeah, our board failed.
