Not the issue. The issue is money. I'm fine with having an Army, but the one we have costs a fortune to maintain. I didn't specify marijuana. I said "DRUG offender." All of them. Putting them in prison is a waste of money. We wait until they want to get off, and put them in voluntary rehab. That way there's less people we have to pay for, we're actually dealing with the ones who can be helped (you can't break an addiction if the person doesn't want to break it. Even the DARE program tell kids that. It's one of the few things they DON'T lie about). Plus, we don't funnel tons of money into organized crime, and cause drug wars, and...Yeah, point is, the "War on Drugs" is a giant black hole sucking up our money.

Certainly they can make people violent. And when people become violent, they are arrested. However, we don't arrest people for crimes they might commit in the future. More significantly, there's absolutely nothing we can do to even reduce the usage of these drugs. Anyone who says otherwise is either ill-informed, or lying. Thus, the War on Drugs is every bit as useless as Prohibition, and needs to be ended.

...and that's what regulation is for. In Nevada they're required to use condoms, and are tested regularly for STDs. To date, the transmission rate has been 0%. This is how prostitution should be handled everywhere.
