It is. Like alcohol, many of those others can be used responsibly as well. So we should deal with it more responsibly, rather than creating business for organized crime.
I never said alcohol didn't cause. But this discussion wasn't about making alcohol illegal.
You stated that most drugs, harmful or not, should be legalized in order to raise money for various social programs.
Earmarked for social programs was in jest, intended to tweak. They SHOULD be legalized, regulated and taxed, with the tax money used like taxes are.
And any drug can be harmful.

Giving people greater tools to destroy themselves to get some more tax dollars that would probably be wasted on various pork programs is not a responsible answer.
Interesting you would categorize programs intended to help people as "pork".
And plenty of people use various substances recreationally without "destroying" themselves. Let's have a little less of the Daddy State in our lives, please.

Are you advocating that any business organized crime is involved in should be legalized in order to raise more tax dollars?
Why do you insist on asking such broad blanket questions under the pretence of debate? If you want to debate, debate, try not to indulge in such obvious "gotcha" tactings.
