See, I believe Shakespeare wrote Shakespeare, too. I just don't believe that William Shakesper, the butcher's apprentice from Stratford-on-Avon, wrote the plays written by William Shakespeare, which was the pseudonym of Edward deVere, the 17th Earl of Oxford.
The fact that Samuel Clemons wrote the works of Mark Twain isn't a goofy, tin-foil hat conspiracy theory. Neither is the idea that the name "William Shakespeare" was a pseudonym.
Shakespeare/deVere wrote Hamlet. Twain/Clemons wrote Tom Sawyer. And George Eliot/Mary Ann Evans wrote Silas Marner, yet it still remains a painfully boring book.

Except, Stallion, that there wasn't a REAL GUY named Mark Twain running around coming up with the adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Sam Clemens made a shitload of money off of Mark Twain (and then lost it all). I doubt Mark Twain would have restrained himself from filing a suit or two over the matter.
I appreciate that you chose my other favourite author to make your example.
William Shakespeare was a real guy. And a gifted wordsmith who penned some enduring works.
